I have worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist with adults and children since 2008. I have worked in a range of settings; education, charity and voluntary, and have also set up a student counselling service in an Academy school.

 

I now work in private practice with people over 16 years of age. I also work

part time with the NHS as an honorary psychotherapist.

 

I worked as a graphic designer before retraining as a counsellor and psychotherapist, and I maintain a creative approach to my work.

 

Some of the issues I work with include:

  • Stress and anxiety

  • Trauma, past and present

  • Depression

  • Low self-esteem and lack of confidence

  • Relationship difficulties including separation, divorce, affairs, family breakdown

  • Sexuality

  • Workplace issues such as stress, bullying, harassment

  • Loss: for example bereavement, redundancy, illness

  • Adapting to change: leaving home, becoming a new parent, midlife changes, retirement

  • Issues related to the past including physical, emotional and sexual abuse in childhood

  • Feeling stuck, lost, empty or experiencing a lack of meaning in life

 

Training and Qualifications

  • Foundation Course in Group Analysis, Institute Group Analysis (IGA) 2016

  • Diploma in Integrative Counselling, Birmingham University 2008

  • Certificate in Counselling, Birmingham University 2006

  • BA (Hons) Visual Communication, Wolverhampton Art College 1981

 

I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I have regular supervision and I continue to attend trainings, courses and workshops as part of my CPD.
